My wife suggested to have shabu shabu as she has a craving for it. I planned to go Soma Shabu Shabu as I was working around that area today. It was located at Chung On Street, several minutes walk from Tsuen Wan MTR.For their dinner buffet, they have few pricing, depending on the type of beef chose. It ranged from $168 to $458. For their dinner buffet, they have few pricing, depending on the type of beef chose. It ranged from $168 to $458. In the end, we chose US prime short rib meat. Besides that, we have unlimited seafood, chicken, pork, deep fried food and skewers etc.
Near the entrance of the store, we can take vegetables, noodles, balls, drinks and desserts etc.
For our soup base, we chose half tomato and half kimchi. Both were flavourful and clear.
US prime short rib meat was surprisingly good, tender and juicy. When boiled with the soup base, it absorbed the essence of the soup and need not add any seasoning. Chicken was soft and smooth and pork was cut till very thin in slices, juicy too. For their seafood, it came with scallop, squid, oysters, mussel and prawn. They were fresh and juicy, chewy as well.
For the skewers, I chose beef, pork, bacon asparagus roll and enoki mushroom beef rolls. As they were marinated with sauce before skewed, they were juicy and flavourful.
For the fried items, I have chicken wings, chicken, onion rings and prawns. They were deep fried till the skin was crispy and yet the inside was juicy.
For the ice cream, they carried milk top brand. Matcha tea and black sesame ice cream were smooth and creamy, good for desserts serving.
