Oh, there was a vegetable soup too. The portion was really small but I am okay with it, since it was bland and flavourless.
Drinks
I went in hoping to try some of their specialty coffee...the response I got upon ordering basically made my day - "We do no serve hand drip coffee during peak hours." I looked around...Our table was the only one that was occupied during that time. Later on I ordered a long black, it was pretty...well, bland, just like their food. So I had two sips and left it there on the table.
ServiceHuh...I am not even sure if there was any.
Classic dialogue, upon entering:
Lady: "Are you here for the food or just a drink?" (curtly)
Me: "Er...both?"
Another one, overheard when a trio walked in:
Lady: "How many of you are there?" (again, curtly)
Man: "What, are you like full now or what??" (the cafe was empty besides us...)
You get the idea...
Make it or break it
The cafe's location is splendid, it was surrounded by many different local shops in a side street. The place itself makes it worth the walk. I am sure people, especially coffee lovers, will appreciate and enjoy the ambience....IF, and only if, they get their act together and deliver as a cafe, not a cha chaan teng...
