We visited Amelia in TST with great anticipation, having heard of its Michelin-starred counterpart and its reputation for exquisite Italian cuisine with a modern twist, the ambiance of the restaurant, and its sophisticated decor.Unfortunately, the reality did not match the expectation. Unfortunately, the reality did not match the expectation. We were greeted with service that could only be described as mediocre. The staff, were quite polite, but lacked the attentiveness and warmth we anticipated from a restaurant of such purported caliber.
The centerpiece of our visit, the tea set priced close to 600, was a letdown. The skewers, which should have been a delightful savory treat, were served cold. This was not an isolated incident as the rest of our meal similarly suffered from a lack of temperature control, reducing what could have been vibrant flavors into something quite forgettable.
Even more disheartening was the presentation of the beverages. What was supposed to be a comforting pot of tea turned out to be tepid water with little to no character – a stark contrast to the rich and aromatic experience one would expect from a high-end tea service. whilst the latte tasted good, an expected latte art at a Michelin star level was completely missing.
In conclusion, our visit to Amelia was underwhelming. It is with hope that this feedback serves as constructive criticism for the establishment to elevate its dining experience to match its esteemed name and price tag.
