Service has always been painstakingly slow here, but I've always been forgiving since this is just a school canteen and I'm pretty sure paper & coffee hires those who have some kind of difficulty finding jobs - so not exactly professional baristas. The coffee and food here certainly cost a lot less than commercial coffee shops outside uni, but they are not cheap by CU standards. That is why I was surprised to see the size of the large flat white that I order almost every other day having shrunk in size by A LOT. When I received my takeaway order I did a double take and asked the barista if they had given me a small flat white instead. Honestly the yellow cup gave the answer away already (they use grey cups for small and yellow for large), but I was just baffled to see the large cup shrink so much, and it wasn't even filled up to the top! The barista explained that they had changed the cups, for whatever reason I wonder?? I took one sip and it tasted more like a macchiato than a flat white, I think I have just lost the only somewhat decent source of coffee here at CUHK...
