Fat Friends, I'm going to keep this review short and sweet. My husband I went to Brick Lane Gallery because we were craving a cheeky English Breakfast. We showed up at dinnertime, had our meals with tea, ended with dessert, and got out the door with no problems. Okay, I admit no one came around to refill our water glasses but that's it.

So how was their English Breakfast? The short answer is that we liked it just fine, although we both agreed that the portions would have been more generous at an English pub. (Hey, but don't take my word for it--check Google Images.)

On each plate was a hash brown, slice of toast, bit of Yorkshire pudding, two eggs, tiny little taste of baked beans, black pudding, ham, bacon, smoked salmon, salad, Portabello mushrooms, vine tomatoes, shaved white cheddar, and what I'm pretty sure was a Lincolnshire sausage. Best was the savory black pudding with its punch-packing flavor. Worst was the fact that the beans came in a condiment cup and I could count the number of them at a glance. (The next thing you'll probably want to google is "struggle plate.")

Tea was Twinings, so no surprises there aside from the $34 price tag.

Happy with our food so far, we decided to order two desserts to share. The restaurant was out of the two items we really wanted, so we settled for a Victoria in a Jar (strawberries, Chantilly cream and vanilla sponge) and a piece of hazelnut chocolate cake. They cost $45 and $52 respectively and were too small to be worth the price, so I'd suggest skipping them and going to a proper dessert place afterward, like Pomme in Wan Chai.
