It was not our first visit. We were quite impressed by the food during our first visit about half a year ago, especially the waffles, and decided to come back for a small celebration this time.
This small cafe looked more or less the same as our last visit. When we arrived around 12:15pm, it was already almost half full by a lot of youngsters. So reservation in advance please to secure a table.
The lunch sets seemed to be very similar to those when we last came, including the price range. We remembered the cheeseburger was really good so decided to encore. But instead of the pizza we ordered last time, we decided to order the beef omurice. Last but not the least, the Belgium waffles was a must order item and we ordered one each with $38+10% of top-up.
There was a big jar of water on the side at your own service.

避風塘style肥牛蛋包飯 arrived first. The portion was really giant! First of all, I tried a sip of the eggs which were so smooth with egg lava flowing out! There were quite a few pieces of 肥牛 which were all well seasoned. I liked how they added those garlic crisps on the side which enhanced the texture of the whole dish. Quite a good dish indeed.

I had to say the cheeseburger was even better than last time. The main reason was that both the buns were toasted to the perfect texture so that they were super crunchy from top to bottom. Unlike last time, there was an extra onion ring on top for free which was so nice of them. The beef patty was also cooked with a very crunchy crust yet it was not overly dry. The piece of cheese was also reasonably thick. The veggies including the lettuce (with some dressing on) and tomato were also fresh. I had to say it was a pretty nice burger and it was cheap indeed. The accompanying fries were freshly deep-fried and went great with ketchup plus mayo, which we asked for separately.

Then here you go the highlight of the meal - which was the Belgium Waffles. The waffles were as good as last time: crunchy outside and soft and chewy inside. The matcha waffles really contained matcha components inside and the same went for the sweet potato waffles. Both of them were great and each dish offered 2 whole pieces! We were guessing the flavour of the accompanying ice-cream which should be vanilla or milk. The accompanying sauce should be evaporated milk which made the waffles taste even better because the waffles were not too sweet themselves. The mango pieces were served together with the Matcha waffles while sweet potato paste were served with the sweet potato waffles. The sweet potato paste was not overly sweet at all. Again, great value for money!
Service was attentive and with the even better food quality at such reasonable prices I think I will come back sometime in future.
