Sometimes, eating is not just about the food. The environment also matters a lot. This time we were back to this beautiful cafe with super high ceilings and very artistic interior renovations. I particularly liked their marble tables. I was so glad that their lunch special menu had changed compared with my last visit. This time we were back to this beautiful cafe with super high ceilings and very artistic interior renovations. I particularly liked their marble tables.
I was so glad that their lunch special menu had changed compared with my last visit. There were a few choices of mains at different prices on their lunch special menu. A soup of the day or salad and a drink were included in the set, with some choices of top-up at your discretion. Quite a good deal.
As we were quite hungry, we ordered two lunch specials and one more mains to share.

The salad was served to us very soon. Portion was quite big with a lot of fresh greens topped by some crab meat, lots of sweet mango pieces, some almond slices and quite a lot of mango dressing. It was a very refreshing salad dominated by the sweet mangoes.

The soup of the day was Carrot Ginger Soup. I had never tried this soup and it sounded great for the slightly cool weather. It was very rich and thick. The presence of ginger was really perfect so that it had not masked the flavour of carrot. Quite a good and creative combo. The toast was made from bread with grain to add texture. Some olive oil was added on top to make it less dry. It was those kind of soft but not crispy toast.

The presentation was so pleasant with half a lobster nicely laid out topped by some edible flowers. The smell of the grilled lobster immediately caught my nose when it was served to us. The flesh had been taken out from the claw for our easy consumption. The flesh was pretty fresh and delicious! There was even lobster paste available on the shell for us to eat! There was quite a lot of linguine under the lobster and it was very well mixed with the lobster sauce. The sauce was kind of a mixture of tomato and lobster sauces with a lot of veggies like cherry tomato, onion, leek and spring onion. Their linguine was more the smooth but not al dente type. It was quite a delicious dish overall!

It was very very hot when served. The smell of cheese caught our nose immediately when it was served. But to our surprise the amount of cheese was actually not that much yet the smell was so strong. There was plentiful pumpkin sauce which was perfectly sweet. There were quite a lot of pumpkin cubes, chicken cubes and some fresh baby spinach. The risotto was again not those al dente type. Overall, it was a delicious and very healthy dish. Presentation was again very decent with edible flower and greens as decoration.

The salmon fillet was not their lunch special but was from their main menu. It was so nicely cooked that it was still tender and juicy although fully cooked. The flesh went great with the accompanying sauce which neither of us could tell what it was. I particularly appreciated the super crispy skin. There were loads of salmon roes on top of the skin to add sea water saltiness. There were 4 slices of fresh yellow zucchini and some baby spinach accompanying the salmon. Again it was decorated by some fresh greens and edible flowers on top. Another healthy and delicious dish.
Americano (included in lunch special)
A free hot Americano or Honey Lime was included in the lunch special. I was never a fan of coffee so couldn't really comment on the Americano.

I went for the hot honey lime which was served in such a pretty cup. It was not overly sweet at all.
Our eyes, noses, tongues and stomachs felt so full after this decent meal. Lex Coffee would definitely remain on my to go list for special occasions.
