Auntie 喺馬會既月刊睇倒打吡餐廳啱啱黎左個新德國廚師煮法國菜,所以就約埋幾位好友同我依個晚輩試下佢既手勢。小弟第一次黎,爸爸一早通知定我話牛仔褲,波鞋,T-shirt唔入得,所以心中有數係高級餐廳,期待非常。後來更發現餐廳同酒吧一樣,只招待十八歲或以上人士。大家千其唔好以為冇十八歲以下既朋友就代表好靜呀。因為auntie們早到,所以佢地就喺樓下酒吧到開左枝香檳飲住等。酒吧燈光柔和,好配合客人欣賞女歌手唱歌既氣氛。迷你舞台旁邊既梳化椅睇落好似矮左少少,不過應該都幾舒服。最吸引倒我既反而係圍繞住酒吧既雲石枱:燈光射落去營造出半透明既效果令人好涼快。當我同爸爸收工趕到時就成班一齊行上去餐廳。斯文有禮既姐姐們重幫幾位女士攞酒杯添。雖然馬會有,不過我地見佢中間條螺旋梯咁靚,所以就選擇左行樓梯。小弟建議大家都係睇吓條梯好啦,因為每一級都幾高,對著高踭鞋既女士或者飲左兩杯既朋友都有少少危險;講真我自己行完都暈暈地。餐廳既裝修同酒吧一樣好大方,坐位好寬敞。不得不提既係餐廳所選用既餐具:叉同羹個柄部設計係平既,確保平放時唔會移位;另外,每一道餸所選用既碟都唔同,幾有心思。研究餐牌時,我地提到一心

研究餐牌時,我地提到一心黎試新廚師既廚藝,經理反應好快地指出"A La Carte Menu"既食物並非新廚所烹調。可能仍在適應中,新廚只係負責兩款 set menu:"Tasting Menu"同"Classic Menu"
。雖然有少少錯愕,不過我地都每款叫左幾份黎試。

Bread Basket:French bread 新鮮熱辣,夠鬆脆,正!其他麵包唔夠熱,大家冇謂試。

Tasting Menu:$700/person;每日不同,下午先會出menu
;據說當晚食物既編排係由淺味既菜式開始,味道越食越濃。
Balik Salmon, Citrus Blinis, Traditional Garnish:成朵花咁好靚,不過好睇唔好食。第一啖咬落去就涷親我d好敏感既牙,所以魚既質感冇辦法試真,唔知會唔會係未解涷夠呢
。底層既麵包索得太多汁,超咸,完全唔覺得係由淺味食起囉。

Fennel Velouté, Oyster, Sour Cream:一個小弟從未試過既配搭;暖暖既湯底酸酸地還可以,不過隻蠔就非常腥;一款我唔會推介既湯。

Roasted Boston Lobster, Sauce Neptune, Braised Leeks:主菜選擇一;本來應該好正,因為龍蝦鮮甜,肉質好軟唔嚡,可惜上枱既時後已經涷哂,所以覺得有少少"口徏"料。

Pre-Dessert:Strawberry Sorbet + Cheese + Jello:可能因為啫喱既關係,芝士味唔係好重,只係食倒士多啤利既甜味,幾清涼。
Earl Grey Crème Brûlée, Cinnamon Pain Perdu, Condensed Milk Foam:餐牌上見倒最期待既一款甜品,點知出哂事,太涷太甜太溜太槳口,完全唔掂!

Freshly Brewed Nespresso Coffee, Premium "T2" Teas, Mignardises:正常。

整個Tasting Menu味道唔係咁出眾,有幾味重唔係好掂添,唯一最好嗰樣又唔夠熱,所以對個餐都幾失望。

Classic Menu:$888/ two persons;menu 每兩個禮拜轉一次,個人比較欣賞個Classic Menu多d,只係唔明點解一定要兩個人先可以叫。
Caesar Salad, Derby's Own Style with French Anchovies:沙津用料新鮮爽甜,dressing唔會落得太多,只係唔夠croutons,算滿意。

Slow Cooked Foie Gras, Beetroot Reduction, Cherry Purée, Toasted Almonds, Tea Jelly:全晚最出色既一道菜式;選碟同食物既舖切都好靚;半熟既鵝肝煮既時間掌握得非常好,因為夠熱之餘,薄薄既皮,脆得黎冇燶,內層亦好軟滑,食完一d都唔覺溜,大家都讚不絕口。必吃推介!!!

Pan Fried Boston Lobster, Sherry Sauce, Baby Onions, Artichoke Bottom, Braised Du Buy Lentils:主菜選擇一;同tasting menu個龍蝦一樣新鮮唔嚡,個汁亦唔會太濃地搶走龍蝦本身既鮮甜味;都係同一個問題 ~ 唔夠熱。

Soufflé of Your Choice:選擇左諗住最安全既Grand Marnier ,味道普通,最失敗係外熱內冷且唔夠鬆,不得不扣分。
Freshly Brewed Nespresso Coffee, Premium "T2" Teas, Mignardises

頭盤問題不大,最重要係兩個餐同樣地主菜都出哂問題:用料唔夠新鮮,烹調技巧又唔係話咁得,加埋中上既presentation,依個價錢真係唔係好合理囉。可憐既係連結尾既甜品都挽回唔倒分數,真係差少少就會比個喊臉架啦。
希望廚師適應左一排食物質素會好d啦。

後記:
1) 雖然每人都有份餐牌,但係只有坐請客位個份先印有價錢。
2) 因為會員要比會費,所以普通會所既酒水既價錢會比出面其他餐廳既便宜。不過非牟利既馬會就剛剛相反,佢既酒最少貴人兩三陪,好似打劫d會員咁。真係有需要反省。

chinese speaking sommelier & english/french speaking sommelier. both offer gd suggestions based on what you are eating, & can accomodate you if you want sth cheaper or from certain region. have had gd expensive wines & cheap wines here.

don't know why other review said the caesar salad is no gd. if you eat caesar salad in a gd restaurant, you get only the middle of the lettuce, and it is served whole (no bitter, hard to chew pieces, only the sweet tender leaves). place is quiet enough for you to ask for sth off the menu, e.g. green salad, but don't expect a pressed duck or anyth complicated like that. have never had problem with service tho, and portions are expectedly smaller, as most ppl eat more than one course. i usually have 2 courses & coffee (served with cookies & chocolates) - quite filling for a woman who eats fairly lightly.

this is not really a place to share food. it's similar to hk club's red room, very colonial, old school brit dining. formal wear only, but derby bar allows jeans (but no shorts). members only, cannot pay with cash or credit cards, only membership card. no tip necessary (but prices already reflect level of service to be expected).

前晚接受朋友的邀請到跑馬地馬會會所用餐, 氣氛一流, 服務超差, 菜式古怪, 味道普通, 埋單食左三千真係鄧朋友肉痛. 氣氛一流: 高尚地方當然裝飾各樣有番咁上下, 連的刀叉都係lalique (不過有的刀崩晒囉= =")服務超差: 一開波已經派錯有價錢既menu俾我朋友而唔係宴客主人都好過份; 再黎為左唔願服務唔肯俾我地share食, 三黎介紹枝紅酒好難飲...菜式古怪: 可能我見得世面少, 個餐牌既菜式真係好難令人叫得落手, 最經典居然有蒸乳鴿= ="味道普通: 中間出既蕃茄味sorbet, 好難食; 凱撒沙律的菜又黃, 仲要成棵棵上, 似黃芽白多過生菜; 龍蝦湯雲吞居然先把一個放了雲吞的碟放在台面, 然後用一個平時放鐵板汁料既容器在你面前倒到碟上, 呢的唔係service係破壞緊食物既味道. 可幸都係頭盤同湯差的, 主菜味道仲可以接受. 成餐飯都只係食左會員既尊貴同裝修囉, 其實唔係真係太過差, 不過冀望過高先所以先覺得失望.
