The curries were great and not too spicy.

踏入家中老闆既壽辰月活動,當然要由「嘗味名單」中選取一間心儀試一試。家中老闆一話呢間係中環文華既幾好要試,我就一個月前俾個電郵訂位。因為想安排好點,所以電郵問埋有冇泊車位,諗住俾貴貴時租都要型一型佢泊下文華酒店咁。點知餐廳經理好好英文咁回覆我係唔會有咁既安排既,E 嚟 E 去既英文寫得好靚,即刻覺得成單野唔同哂,要認真對待。講返今次午餐,可以用覺得自己型左嚟形容,一到場經理就安排坐係一張二人木桌,同隔離仲有一塊木製屏風隔一隔鄰台咁,即係話俾大家知間餐廳好重視PRIVACY,同埋講話請收細音量。落左單就上兩件飽,大家都一定會對中環酒店西餐廳既餐飽有期望,當然我睇到都已經想食,又嚟有圖有真相: 跟著就係今次三大主角之一既 牛肉他他,連埋有一個雞蛋黃當醬點,另一個就係白蘭地醬。呢個他他入面混左少少酸子之類既西餐配料,一提就提升哂成個他他既味,就咁食都已經好食到不得了,暫時係食過最好既牛肉他他: 主菜,炸魚薯條,英式餐廳食英國午餐。佢地用既魚好好,肉一疏疏,脆粉薄,份量足,優質:家中老闆一直想食TIKKA,就叫左黎試,佢個雞肉好諗,混咖哩一絕,配個長米飯乾身而鬆軟,好好:中間趁晏左少人點,同左

中間趁晏左少人點,同左個經理傾左一陣,知道唔少呢間有歷史既酒店既一點事跡,更令我好有FEEL。結果慢慢食,有傾有講咁LUNCH左兩粒鐘先閃人。家中老闆 話滿意安排,部車由佢泊得遠就遠啦,話食完慢慢行吓都好。「老闆俾LIKE,此刻無價。」

Seated comfortably at the deep armchairs and green leather banquettes, the wood panel wall and ceiling, and the bar featuring lots of whisky, created a cozy and relaxed club-like atmosphere of the colonial 60s. All the staff are also dressed in impeccable white suits with bow ties.

After getting our beverages to start, we ordered two starters to share. The first is Smoked Salmon ($298). With traditional condiments of onion, capers and dill, together with boiled eggs and gem salad, the salmon are truly exceptional, with a nice smoky note but not excessive, the texture tender and moist, with us able to readily tell the quality of the salmon. Even though it might look simple, this is a really good example of how a great dish can highlight and showcase the ingredients.

The other starter, Crab ($318) was even better. The meat from Devon brown crab was picked out, and on top putting a layer of avocado, supplemented with a rich sauce. The sweetness of the crab meat, with the bit of citrus used to mix together with the avocado puree, and the savoury taste from the sauce, created a wonder in flavours. There are some crispy melba toasts to put the crab meat on which further provided a contrast on the texture. A must-try in my opinion.

Coming to the main we had Dover Sole ($688). The staff asked whether we wanted to be on bone or not, and we opted for the latter, and my friend John who works here recommended us to pan-sear the fish a bit longer to caramelize for better experience. Thanks to his advice, it was simply perfect. The fish is big so could serve two persons, and together with lemon butter sauce, with the lemon juice giving the acid to freshen the buttery note. On the side were new potato and spinach. This one was another recommendation. If I have to pick one thing to improve, the spinach can be a bit less salty.

The other main course we chose was Tikka ($338). The chicken is cooked with a curry made from tomato, butter, yoghurt and aromatic spices, which permeated great aroma even before our first bite. On the taste the curry had an interesting smoky note, well-integrated into the complex flavours. Served with basmati rice, we also had some Plain Naan ($88) on the sides to savour the wonderful curry. The chicken is also tender and flavourful, marinated very well. Despite my big appetite, I could not finish all as the portion was quite generous.

But we somehow could not leave without having dessert, so my wife chose Eton Mess ($128). Inside there are meringue, with mango and passion fruit, along with vanilla ice-cream. For me, I took Trifle ($128), with raspberry, vanilla and compote, white chocolate ice-cream. Not too sweet, the raspberry had the acidity to balance the sweetness from the ice-cream and compote to finish a rewarding and complete meal.

Service was good overall, and the bill was $2,552. One thing I missed though was the whisky, as I was very full and a bit drunk (after having a glass of white and another glass of champagne) in the end. So I hope to return next time, to enjoy their big range of whisky and try out a few different ones.

好啦, 間酒店係靚, 古色古香好有味道, 唔會太商業化  (其他酒店未必有呢種歷史悠久但中式得黎靚的感覺, 半島會有但很歐陸)但食過的呢幾款野好難食下呢個鵝肝係前菜, 但大到出奇, 飽到傻而且真係好難食, 鵝肝唔應該係咁, 油脂感唔夠, 又唔軟滑chicken kiev 真係好乾好鞋, 雞胸唔一定係咁的texture的這個其實係焗海鮮,有cream有薯容好好味, 入面有帶子、三文魚之類

好彩預早2/3日email 去book位,諗住平日夜晚會無咩人啦,去到都full house ,如果無book位就要坐bar枱喇 去到先點左飲品,跟手就叫左2個chicken dish, tikka curry chicken 同另一個pan fry chicken好期待食文華呢個出曬名既咖哩好快就上菜 咖哩濃味/雞食得出係新鮮/跟上既印度飯先係主角,有飯香之餘又有咬口 好好味呀另一碟雞就中中等等 不過不失 總括嚟講 服務超好!

Came here for lunch recently.I had no idea this place existed actually, until I was brought here. It’s sort of hard to find, and the dining space is really small. However, even though it’s a really enclosed space, the thing is best described as posh, unlike the other small places I’ve been to which have been rather grungy. They have a bunch of items for lunch (posted a photo), but I went with one of the cheaper ones, the lamb rogan josh. They give you a couple of sauces or chutneys to go with it

They have a bunch of items for lunch (posted a photo), but I went with one of the cheaper ones, the lamb rogan josh. They give you a couple of sauces or chutneys to go with it, but honestly it doesn’t do much for the dish.

While the food is fairly pricey here, I think what you get and the quality makes this a decent spot. Looking forward to trying other dishes here.

我們難得前來,當然要一試這裡的甜品,但可惜他們最近轉換了餐牌,沒有出名的Apple Crumble。於是我們點了Passion Fruit Tart。店員送上來,我們驚喜萬分,它就像一件藝術品一樣。芒果撻正中有芒果custard,而旁邊的忌廉一個一個小球狀的圍著。芒果撻鬆化,custard甜美。Sorbet是士多啤梨的味道,冰凍而香甜,在口腔內慢慢融化,感覺很清新。

Simply can't complain about the quality of food nor the privacy of this vintage english pub. Went for a business lunch. Love their Chicken tikka which is best i had so far in hk, chicken pieces are tender and juicy, poppadom .. never really a fan. Also tried their Fish & chips which came in a big big portion which chips is definitely meant to be shared😆Most things in the world has 2 sides, the goods and the bads. I guess the bad here is the price?lol

Love this cosy place, started with some peppermint tea which is served at good warm temperature. Had the fish and chips, which chips is thickly-cut & crispy outside. They used sea bass for the fish. Also tried the chicken tikka and love it, the best I had in HK, the chicken is very soft & tender. Definitely a good spot for comfort food and chat😊

之前從未試過呢間Chinnery,今日約咗朋友來食飯才知道原來文華東方仲有間好食得隱秘lounge。裡面環境很好,英倫風格裝修,桌椅看得出有歷史感,這點和一般扒房差不多。Lunch order咗個Fish pie,上檯時呆咗因為見到個Pie上面好多奇怪的foam⋯無乜味唔知係乜。但因為賣相奇特所以當下心裡邊已經打個突,唔係要靠新奇賣相吸引人掛?但食落就發現我估錯咗。個Fish pie好好食呀!!potato好鬆軟好霖好好味,魚又好嫩好滑又夠大塊,完全唔係冰鮮死魚既口感,同一般fish fillet完全係唔同境界,真係好好食!!!食到呢個fish pie我覺得好感動好幸福呀!!!至於跟餐的麵包我不嬲都覺得麻麻因為我本身唔食牛油。而最後上咗一個walnut cookie同一個mini brownie 我就無試到因為減肥。綜上所述,呢個fish pie真係強烈推薦!

但食落就發現我估錯咗。個Fish pie好好食呀!!potato好鬆軟好霖好好味,魚又好嫩好滑又夠大塊,完全唔係冰鮮死魚既口感,同一般fish fillet完全係唔同境界,真係好好食!!!食到呢個fish pie我覺得好感動好幸福呀!!!

至於跟餐的麵包我不嬲都覺得麻麻因為我本身唔食牛油。而最後上咗一個walnut cookie同一個mini brownie 我就無試到因為減肥。

綜上所述,呢個fish pie真係強烈推薦!

My husband and I dined here on a with another couple upon recommdation by a friend who highly rates the curries. Being from Australia, we were a little confused by the idea of an upscale gastro-pub but thought we'd give it a try.The restaurant is very cosy and intimate and has a traditional, luxurious colonial feel. My husband and I dined here on a with another couple upon recommdation by a friend who highly rates the curries. Being from Australia, we were a little confused by the idea of an upscale gastro-pub but thought we'd give it a try.

The restaurant is very cosy and intimate and has a traditional, luxurious colonial feel. It probably looks more like a freak museum of what a person who has never been to an English pub would think a traditional pub looks like. The waiters were very professional, polite and attentive. 

Our table ordered the:
- lamb samosas,
- devils on horseback,
- fried calamari,
- chicken tikka masala curry,
- the chicken tandoori ,
- fish pie,
- lamb rogan josh and
- lemon tart.

Each dish averaged HKD 300. Considering that a curry could potantially only cost HKD 60 from somewhere else, we wondered what would justify these prices other than the location of the restaurant. On a spicieness level, the curries were very mild.

If you are ever silly enough to even come to the restaurant, DO NOT ORDER THE FISH PIE! It was AWFUL!!! It was nothing more than creamy potato slop, topped with a thin layer of crumble (not actual pie pastry) and a few bits of fish flesh! The pie was decorated with some tasteless 'fish foam' to give it a deceptive 'high end' look, which I am sure some people might appreciate enough to whip out their camera for. The lamb in the Rogan josh was very dry and not cooked down enough.

We walked away feeling completely ripped off unable to fathom that we spent the equivalent of AUD 221 on average pub food/indian.

The chicken tikka masala and the chicken tandoori were both lovely, but you can get an equally good one from elsewhere for less than half the price. The starters were also okay, but did not warrrent the heavy price tag. 

Lemon pie was delicious! It was very 'lemony' and had a caramelised topping, like a creme-brulee. The portion size was rather small, unlike the mains which were very big.

I would also like to add that my dear friend very sweetly organised a birthday surprise for our table which was a cup of fresh cream and strawberry jelly. The waiter adorably also offers to sing 'Happy Birthday' as a solo performance.

The Chinnery seems to target the market of tourists who don't know any better, or people who clearly have too much money to spend. I would only recommend that you come here if you have spinal problems and need a comfortable and supportive chair to sit on.

大家都是虔誠的甜魔,頭盤只要份當日推介的 Caesar Salad,多留 quota 給主菜及甜品吧。這凱撒沙律簡單得來並不簡單,除了羅馬生菜極級新鮮爽脆,配料的煙肉、麵包粒均是頂級鮮脆貨色,加上適合的沙律醬、芝士及鯷魚,滋味清新又豐富!同上雞胸肉也很嫩滑好吃~

英國菜中最為人熟悉相信是 Fish & Chips, Burger, Fish Pie 之類,這裡也有供應,不過這天我們選吃印菜風味主菜。首先是 Tandoori, Sizzling organic chicken leg with yoghurt, spices & pickles ($258),以熱熨鐵板盛載起香嫩惹味的有機雞腿肉,加上乳酪醬、漬物,滋味更加豐富,一定要趁熱享用~

英國曾於印度殖民統治很長時期,取得了當地最好的香料,故不少老饕都說,最好的咖哩其實要在英國找!因此當日也選了 Madras Cod, mustard seeds, coconut & curry leaves ($278),銀兜內約有7-8件鱈魚,肉質嫩滑而挺實,拌以香濃刺激的咖哩估不到地夾,拌上香飯或加點 Naan ($78) 享用,均是美味難忘。

美妙的風味主菜後,又到最期待的甜品環節啦!其實這裡的菜式都很大,甜品亦不例外;貪心的同時點下 Chocolate Cake 及 Apple Crumble ($108@),會否吃不完呢?

答案是絕對不會,因為實在太好吃啦!要知甜魔最恨的,是點了心太軟卻換來鐵石心腸,餐單只寫 Chocolate Cake, warm, coffee ice cream 的蛋糕,卻香濃濕潤兼有軟滑流心,是個極品心太軟來的,太太太令人驚喜啦~

由於濃郁的熔漿是緩緩流心(正合我意!!),後知後覺的甜魔媽媽切開分了一半才補拍一張... 但這蛋糕真的很讚;同上的咖啡味雪糕口味較柔和,亦與蛋糕很夾超好吃~

興奮同時,也沒忘記吃另一款 Apple Crumble, cinnamon, vanilla ice-cream,因為成品也很巨大誘人!以鐵板呈上的蘋果金實,面層十分清脆好吃,底下的蘋果餡亦甜美,加上恰到好處的肉柱香氣,以及巨大甜香滑溜的雲呢拿雪糕,很令人滿足~

最後還有 Petit Fours,是 Brownie 及 Apple Crumble 小蛋糕,甜魔媽媽再次喜歡朱古力那款多一些!吃完小甜點,甜胃更加飽到百分百,滿足離開了~

歡樂的時光過得飛快,下午2時多大部分食客都走了,拍一張酒吧照後,也是時間離開;我不是酒鬼,但覺得在這裡飲酒會不錯。最後,聽說11月這裡會有新菜單,真再想來八卦下呢~

蘋果金寶是我一向推薦的招牌甜物
蘋果肉軟熟而好味 金寶脆脆為這份清新 更添了不少口感
而驚喜的也是巧克力蛋糕
