Despite the amber rainstorm signal, I had to come all the way to this cafe because I had a lunch date with my lunch partner! It was actually not so far from the MTR exit so I didn't get myself too wet. There was also a snacks menu on the back. We ordered two mains, two smoothies and 1 appetiser to share.

The appetiser came very soon. Originally we wanted to try out the mussels which were out of stock. So we ordered this beef cubes instead. There were quite a lot of beef cubes which were quite tender and juicy, and also pretty rich in beef flavour. Some of the beef cubes contained tendon yet they were good to chew and not overly hard. The Himalayan Rock Salt didn't make them overly salty and interestingly added some crispy texture to the beef cubes. Accompanying the dish there were some greens and cherry tomatoes. The quality of the beef was really quite good.

My lunch partner recommended the Avocado Soft Shell Crab Burger. Indeed it looked so pleasant as it was nicely served with such a big piece of soft shell crab! The soft shell crab was so big and nicely deep-fried that it was very delicious with reasonably thin batter. I could even eat some crab yellow in it. There were 5 slices of avocado underneath the top bagel. And yes - they used bagels rather than the normal burger buns which was quite special. The bagels were definitely not those really hard type and were pretty good. I particularly liked the Thousand Island dressing which made the burger so juicy and it went great with the salads and the soft shell crab. There were 2 big tomato slices and some greens just above the bottom bagel. The accompanying chips were those thick type and went great with the ketchup served on the side. They were so hot that they were obviously freshly deep-fried. Quite a good burger dish indeed.

The other mains we ordered was a linguine with Wagyu Japanese Beef Cubes and asparagus. The beef cubes were again pretty tender and juicy as well as rich in beef flavour. There were quite a lot of small thin asparagus which were pretty fresh. The linguine was very smooth and went quite well with the sauce, which was actually quite rich in black pepper.
For drinks, we ordered two smoothies.

This mango smoothies was really good. First of all, it was presented so nicely in a big round glass. There were quite a number of small fresh mango cubes. It was of the perfect degree of sweetness and it was pretty smooth. Good to wash down the food.

This strawberry chocolate smoothies was so special that we wanted to try. Indeed, it was really a good mixture of strawberry and chocolate with some slight bitter taste of chocolate with some light sweet flavour of strawberries. Interesting! This smoothies was less smooth than the mango one and contained quite a lot of small ice cubes. There was a piece of fresh strawberry on top. It was quite a healthy option of chocolate drink as it was not sweet at all.
Overall, we were very satisfied with the food. There were quite a few surprises - bagel for the burger, big soft shell crab, yummy beef cubes and great drinks! Service was nice too as the server was very friendly and efficient. Nice experience!
