Having tried their cheap Japanese lunch sets twice, we were here to try out their a la carte menu. It was located at a very convenient building in CWB, which was just a few steps out of MTR exits. There were a lot of other restaurants here so long lines for lifts were often seen during rush hours.Their a la carte menu had sashimi, sushi, sushi rolls, salads, appetizers, grilled dishes, deep fried dishes, hot pots, ramen, sashimi rice, rice dishes and desserts. As both of us craved rice and the w

Their 海膽海鮮炒飯 was also served in a stone bowl to keep warmth. Portion was giant as it was just like a big hill. First of all, of course we had to try out the sea urchin on top. There were more than 4 slices and they were so creamy and fresh without any nasty flavour of sea urchin - definitely not top-notch but pretty good given the price. The rice had a lot of ingredients, including cooked sea urchin, diced prawns, diced oysters, salmon pieces, diced mussels, chopped spring onion and loads of shredded eggs. The rice smelt pretty good of seafood, actually mostly pan-fried oysters with eggs. The rice was quite dry and was just perfectly seasoned. It did not make us feel greasy at all. Given the portion, it was a good idea to share.

This rice bowl was also served in a stone bowl. There were 3 big slices of beef short ribs which had been seasoned very well so that they were slightly sweet. They were reasonably tender and juicy. Aside from the beef short ribs, other toppings included Korean-style pickled cabbages, corns and crispy 黑木耳. The plain rice at the bottom went great with the spicy sauce leftover from the pickled cabbages, and the spicy and sweet sauce on the side. It was another yummy rice bowl!
Miso Soup
A complimentary miso soup came with each rice bowl. There were quite a lot of seaweed and spring onion in addition to tofu and some mushrooms.
Simple lunch could be fulfilling too. Both rice bowls were delicious although I slightly preferred the 海膽海鮮炒飯 more. By the way, there was no service charge. Pretty economical given the prime location in CWB.
