90mins was not enough to enjoy all the yummy food here. Wanted to drink more but we had to return the table. Loved the food but wished we had more time ~~~ d'ahhhh! To cool ourselves with the extensive "heaty" fried food choices, we had beer and the iced beancurd Chinese dessert (腐竹糖水) smoothie. It was a little sweeter than my usual preference but it went well with the typhoon shelter style fried fresh squid (big pieces of squid!), fried salted egg yolk corn, and sizzling chicken & frog clay pot. You must also order the chicken feet in spicy sauce, and pork lard on hot claypot rice! Enjoy the Hong Kong style hawker stand food under the air con with fun restaurant decor. No more quarantine for Hong Kong, of sort (well, 0+3) so this would be a nice place to bring your friends visiting from overseas. BEST to make a table reservation in advance.

Happy discovery - they opened a bakery right around the corner of their original fluffy castella cake shop. I have pretty much tried all their cakes, and it's time to try all the BAKEDS! The bakery offers all kinds of (toast) breads - in loafs or cat's head shape, candied walnuts, Chinese pastries and confectioneries. Genuine on ingredient use and taste. The owner is always friendly and enthusiastic. And wow, look at their nicely done gold spot UV packaging! Btw, their castella cake box is a little traditional Chinese house, and makes a great gifting idea. Black sesame bread:

Tried something new - Pescatarian with Plant Sifu plant-based meat! A limited time collaboration at Duddell's. We were impressed by how natural the plant pork was presented. Seafood added "sweetness" (aroma & flavor) to the dishes while the plant pork added "satisfaction" (texture & fullness). Said to be locally developed and produced with a focus in Chinese cuisine, Plant Sifu was surely on point vs. the other brands that I had tried. Less salty, more tender and original in taste. Plant pork & shrimp rolls covered in 3 kinds of vinegars with a hint of lychee. You could smell the dish even before it reached the table. The lightly-fried rolls were made by pressing "pork" slices with shrimp paste; lots of toothsome layers. Plant pork & seafood with rice crispies. A generous amount of diced lobsters, scallops and shrimps with plant pork and toasty pine nuts. Just the right amount of sauce to moist the crisps. Plant pork & five-head abalone Shanghainese noodles with dried shrimp and HK's specialty chu hou soup. Meaty, bouncy and hearty. A very memorable dish.

Need I say more? Just look at the burger AND fries AND soda water. I need to write at least 80 words so they’ll approve this review but I think just the food shots are enough to get an “approval”. Burger = juicy buttered buns, healthy kale, oozy cheese, secret sauce, and charred angus beef. Fries = made with real potatoes because you can still see the skin. Soda Water = just look at the brand they use. “APPROVE”!

Ventured into Chungking Mansions for African-Filipino food. Must make table reservations in advance via Whatsapp. Tiny place but I just loved it here for the food and homey feeling. I kept eating and nodding (nods of approval) throughout the whole meal. Ordered 3 baskets of naan to go with all the spicy chicken pot and oxtail pot sauces. I would order more but I felt guilty. Brought the leftover home and made pasta with the sauces. Must return for the other dishes. African Spicy Whole Chicken Pot 非洲辣原隻雞煲 Fried Tilapia Mrs Paul Braised Oxtail Tofu Pomegranate Salad Ghana Chili Grilled Eggplant Grandma’s Recipe 非洲涼茶(ginger roselle drink) Churros for dessert (no photo but they use an adorable bunny plate) Their plates for the guests were adorable (again, no photos). Too busy eating. Do not disturb. Nom nom nom.

Ordered pickup via OpenRice Takeaway. Got discounts on drinks lately. The poke bowl came in a giant “crystal ball”. Perfect for shaking up the ingredients before consumption. Be very careful when you open the lid because this place is very generous in the portion (filled to the brim). I had the “Ohana” (no carbs) and the salmon chunks are surprisingly fatty (good). They put just enough honey mustard dressing to over the ingredients so things are were drenching in sauce. I added seaweed and it was a lot of seaweed for just $9. Definitely would check-back every so often so to get some veggies into my system.

Why is this place so quiet? It shouldn’t be because the pasta and ribs are surprisingly gooood! Their menu has a range of “healthier” choices like gluten-free pastas, cauliflower steak, tomato burrata salad, etc. I also like how their a la carte pastas, risotto and entrees come with half price on any drinks! An awesome deal at Causeway Bay. I tried the new Sweet Pepper Anchovy Penne. Loved the al dente pasta. On point! The sauce is deliciously salty and sweet from the blended anchovy and stir-fried bell peppers. Got a bit of “wok breath” also. The Spanish Iberico Ribs were finger licking good. Not the fall-off-the-bone style but the meat was soft enough to bite off. The sauce is THE highlight! Paprika cajun BBQ sauce but they added some vinegar so it’s more than just a generic sweet smokey BBQ sauce from the bottle. The chefs here know something! The portion is good for sharing also. Staff recommendation: a hot fresh mint camomile tea and it cleanses the palate and brings a soothing feeling (aroma and taste) after the meal.

I haven’t had such memorable Chinese food for awhile. All the chilis, spices and @secret sauces” totally woke my senses (dine-out limitations made me get stuck at home, with my poor cooking). All the dishes made me go for bowls and bowls of rice. Highlight: a warm appetizer and I call it the “Hunan Guacamole” - 擂椒皮蛋 century eggs with green chili pepper, sesame oil, vinegar & a bunch of other sauces. The complexity of the sauce shunted out the unpleasant ammonia taste of the eggs. Creamy, slightly spicy and I even ordered another one for takeout. Here was our list. All saucey but not salty. They do semi-buffet on Saturdays. It was pretty much a full-house. Saw that they have a variety of buffet-style salads, cold cuts, hams and desserts. We opt for the a la carte menu though because we just want to sit still and catch up with friends. Ordered the standard-portion ribeye and wagyu steaks, side of fries and mushrooms, and the burrata salad. Medium rare steak done just right. Finger burning fries. Super creamy burrata. ALL YUM! We left the restaurant, HAPPY!

This fresh coconut crepe cake is super addictive. If I don’t have to count the calories, I could easily finish half a cake myself with a large mug of black coffee. The cake is filled with fresh coconut flesh. It has a slight salty taste to it like all real coconut. The cream is light and the layers are not too dense. Love this waaaay more than those rose, earl grey and matcha crepe cakes out there.
